Book Review: Firelight

HeyHiHello

Today I shall be reviewing a book titled Firelight by Sophie Jordon. It is her debut novel in the young adult genre. And trust me, it won't be her last book in that genre.

The description of the book:

A hidden truth.
Mortal enemies.
Doomed love.
Marked as special at an early age, Jacinda knows her every move is watched. But she longs for freedom to make her own choices. When she breaks the most sacred tenet among her kind, she nearly pays with her life. Until a beautiful stranger saves her. A stranger who was sent to hunt those like her. For Jacinda is a draki—a descendant of dragons whose greatest defense is her secret ability to shift into human form.
Forced to flee into the mortal world with her family, Jacinda struggles to adapt to her new surroundings. The only bright light is Will. Gorgeous, elusive Will who stirs her inner draki to life. Although she is irresistibly drawn to him, Jacinda knows Will's dark secret: He and his family are hunters. She should avoid him at all costs. But her inner draki is slowly slipping away—if it dies she will be left as a human forever. She'll do anything to prevent that. Even if it means getting closer to her most dangerous enemy.
Mythical powers and breathtaking romance ignite in this story of a girl who defies all expectations and whose love crosses an ancient divide.

My review:

You probably had heard about this book from before. Many people thought it was the next twilight or something.

Basically this book wasn’t about anything I had read from before. No angels, vampires or werewolf. But dragons. So this book takes you on an exciting journey with a fire breather. She could burn your face with a deep breath.

This book was fun and easy to understand and getting into a new whole world.

The romance in this novel was amazing too. Will, her other half, made it hard for me to breath while reading any of his parts. He was so protective of the fire breather. He would do anything to save her from her enemies. But who are her enemies ? the answer to this question is sad but exciting at the same time.

I still think that the love story aspect of this book should have been better developed than that. Also, I want to see more of the history of the dragons and all of that. Maybe in book #2

I really liked the dragon society and the hidden secrets that I hope will be revealed to us in the next book. I am sensing a love triangle but I am still not sure.

The cover is Awesome with a big A. The cover says it all when you look deep into it.

This is a story of forbidden love. Love shouldn’t exist between those two.  It is the love of the prey and the hunter.

The next book in the series is Vanish which comes out next year.

Tata for now

P.S. I meant on purpose not to reveal the fire breather name. You should do the digging.
