I had mixed feeling when it came to this book. There were parts that were awesome and other parts were just lacking something.

The book dealt with so many issues that many teenagers face. From bullying to family issues. I don’t think Susane left any topic without discussing it or at least hinted to it.

I liked the message behind this book. Its telling everyone who cant afford the best cloth, who cant eat healthy and ends up eating Mcdonalds that they are not the only ones. That there is always hope. Also this book encourages teenagers to talk to a trusted person about their problems because they might help.

However, what I didn’t like about the book is that the dialogues didn’t sound realistic. I just don’t think
teenagers speak like that. I know its been 3 years since I left high school but I don’t think the way I hear teenagers talk had changed and this book didn’t deliver this aspect. Yup, that’s all.

I am not a big fan of this genre, but I can identify with awkward conversations. There seems to be too many topics in this book..maybe that is what made the teen talk sound more like an infomercial? Great review, that is all...LOL

I've read other Susane Colasanti books, and she doesn't connect very well with how teenagers talk. That can be a majour downside to a book (a turn-off really)

I like how you said that she mentioned many REAL issues teenagers face. It's very hard to write about those things (as a writer, I find that really daunting)

I'd like to give this one a try when it comes out though :)Thanks for the easy to read and short review!
