Win A Manuscript Critique

I have a great contest to share with you all of you who want to win a manuscript critique.
Here is a version of an email I had received that is full  of more details.

"Win a literary agent or acclaimed author's feedback on your unpublished manuscript for young adult or middle grade readers.  This rare opportunity is being offered to the six winners of an essay contest recently announced by the literacy charity Book Wish Foundation.  See http://bookwish.org/contest for full details.

You could win a manuscript critique from:

  • Laura Langlie, literary agent for Meg Cabot
  • Nancy Gallt, literary agent for Jeanne DuPrau
  • Brenda Bowen, literary agent and editor of Karen Hesse's Newbery Medal winner Out of the Dust
  • Ann M. Martin, winner of the Newbery Honor for A Corner of the Universe
  • Francisco X. Stork, winner of the Amelia Elizabeth Walden Award for The Last Summer of the Death Warriors
  • Cynthia Voigt, winner of the Newbery Medal for Dicey's Song and the Newbery Honor for A Solitary Blue

All that separates you from this prize is a 500-word essay about a short story in Book Wish Foundation's new anthology, What You Wish For.  Essays are due Feb. 1, 2012 and winners will be announced around Mar. 1, 2012.  If you win, you will have six months to submit the first 50 pages of your manuscript for critique (which means you can enter the contest even if you haven't finished, or started, your manuscript).  You can even enter multiple times, with essays about more than one of the contest stories, for a chance to win up to six critiques.

If you dream of being a published author, this is an opportunity you should not miss.  To enter, follow the instructions at http://bookwish.org/contest.

Good luck and best wishes,

Logan Kleinwaks
President, Book Wish Foundation

A FREE TREE

The environment seems to be the talk of the present and the coming future

Many countries destroy the forests for business purposes such as woods, building shelters, etc.

We need to take a stand because global warming is knocking on the doors.

We should take a stand by recycling or reducing the amount of electricity we use daily

But one of the effective methods to regain balance to the natural environment is by growing trees.

Here are fun facts about trees:
• A single mature tree can release enough oxygen back into the atmosphere to support 2 human beings.
• A single tree will absorb one ton of carbon dioxide over its lifetime. Shade provided by trees can also reduce your air conditioning bill by 10 to 15 percent.
• It only takes 30 trees to offset the C02 produced by one car annually.
• There are about 20,000 tree species in the world. The United States has one of the largest tree treasuries second only to India
• Three trees planted in the right place around buildings can cut air-conditioning costs up to 50 percent.
• Trees improve water quality by slowing and filtering rain water as well as protecting aquifers and watersheds.

Maybe the above information gave a little overview of the importance of trees

You are probably asking by now how I could grow a tree
Well, I have the answer for that question
That’s the whole purpose of this post
This is the website: http://www.seed-the-future.com/standard/index.php?promoid=7190
If you click on the link, you will know that you need a pin to donate a tree for free
So this when the blog comes in handy

ONE WINNER WILL BE RECEIVING A CODE TO ENTER IN THE ABOVE LINK AND REDEEM A TREE. IT'S NOT JUST A TREE; IT’S A TREE WITH YOUR NAME ON IT. HOW SPECIAL IS THAT?

Also You get to choose where the organization plant it
So how could you enter?
By simply becoming a fan on facebook. The fan box is below the post. If you don’t have a facebook account, follow me on twitter, but you have to send me a tweet saying that you want to enter in the draw.

This is my very first contest so be patient, it will take a while to pick a winner.
That’s it for now
Bye
